- A buy-nothing day. Cook from what you have, tidy one shelf, call a friend. The shops will still be there on Tuesday.

If you do buy: two EU consumer rules
General information for shoppers in the EU, not legal advice. Rules for other countries differ.
- 14 days to cancel online purchases. For online, phone or doorstep purchases you can cancel the contract within 14 days without giving a reason; for goods the 14 days run from delivery (Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU). Your Europe: returns.
- The "before" price must be real. When a trader announces a price reduction, it has to show the lowest price it applied in the 30 days before the reduction (Omnibus Directive (EU) 2019/2161). Your Europe: misleading price reduction claims.
