How it works
- Pick your city, or open a city page directly.
- Filter by Wi-Fi, open now, wheelchair access or places where you don't need to buy anything.
- Press the location button, or tap the map, to see how many minutes away each place is on foot.
- Go, sit, stay as long as you like. Found a mistake? Report it and we'll check it.

What is a third place?
A third place is somewhere that is neither home nor work, where you can sit, read or work among other people. Libraries, community centres, free museums and welcoming cafés all count.
Where does the data come from?
From OpenStreetMap, the open map built by volunteers, under the ODbL licence. We list only places with a name and opening hours, Wi-Fi or plug information in the map data. Details can be out of date, so check the hours on the place's own site.
Do I have to buy anything?
Not in libraries, community centres or museums tagged as free. Cafés are shown separately: a drink is the polite price of a long stay. The “No purchase needed” filter hides them.
How is walking time calculated?
On your device, from your position or a point you tap on the map: straight-line distance at 5 km/h. No routing service is used, and your position never leaves your phone.
