Web Summit Lisbon 2026 (9–12 Nov): free things and quiet places near the venue
Web Summit Lisbon runs Monday 9 to Thursday 12 November 2026 at MEO Arena and FIL in Parque das Nações. Four long days can be lonely if you arrive alone. This page lists what costs nothing near the venue, where to sit down in quiet, and what is free in Lisbon in the evening.
The basics
- Dates: Monday 9 to Thursday 12 November 2026, Lisbon (websummit.com).
- Venue: MEO Arena and FIL, Rossio dos Olivais, 1990-231 Lisbon, in Parque das Nações (RVO, Netherlands Enterprise Agency). MEO Arena was formerly called Altice Arena, so older material may use that name.
- Check the official site for entry rules and the schedule before you travel: our list of the venue comes from a secondary source.
Free and paid things near the venue
Always check hours and prices on the official site before you go.
- Jardins Garcia de Orta Free (public garden)A riverside public garden in Parque das Nações, on Passeio das Tágides, about 2,500 m² in six themed sections, created for Expo '98. Tourism listings do not state a fee and it is municipal open ground, but no source we found states it outright. Visit Lisboa
- Riverside promenade (Passeio das Tágides) Free (public walkway)The walkway along the Tagus in Parque das Nações. An outdoor public path with no ticket. A walk here is a gentle way to get away from the hall for twenty minutes.
- Telecabine Lisboa PaidA cable car over the Tagus, about 1,230 m, with its north station on Passeio das Tágides. It is ticketed. Prices and hours differ between sources, so check telecabinelisboa.pt.

Going alone: three small rules
- Pick one anchor per day. One talk or one stage you really want, then let the rest of the day be loose.
- Leave the hall for lunch. A walk by the river resets your head and gives you something to say to the next person.
- Set your exit. Decide to stay one hour at an evening event. You can always stay longer.
