A confirmed-only list of seasonal ice rinks in European cities for winter 2026/27. Skating works well on your own: you set the pace and nobody needs to wait for you. A rink gets dates here only if its 2026/27 season is on an official page we could read (city, tourist board or the operator).

Skate at Somerset House runs from Wednesday 11 November 2026 to Sunday 10 January 2027 in the Fountain Court, under a 40ft Christmas tree. Sessions are 45 minutes and boot hire is included in the ticket. The site lists adult tickets at £13 to £28.50 and children at £11 to £15, plus a £1.50 fee per ticket. Bags go in the cloakroom.

This is a large, busy fair, so it suits a quick skate rather than a quiet one. We give no prices: the site sells ticket packages and we did not check the skating price on its own.

We could not find 2026/27 dates for these rinks on an official page, so we give none. Some open in November or December, but that is not a promise. Press reports may name dates; we do not repeat them without an official source.
- Budapest, City Park (Városliget) mujegpalya.hu The rink's own site says the 2025/26 season ended on 1 March and "see you in November". No 2026/27 opening date was shown.
- Vilnius, Town Hall Square govilnius.lt The tourism board mentions an ice rink in Town Hall Square next to the Christmas market (28 Nov to 27 Dec), but gives no opening dates for the rink itself.
- Brussels plaisirsdhiver.be Winter Wonders runs 27 Nov 2026 to 3 Jan 2027, but its page said the programme comes out in November and named no ice rink.
- Barcelona barcelona.cat/nadal The official Christmas site says it will be updated in November 2026.
- Madrid esmadrid.com No 2026/27 rink information found on the official tourism site.
- Paris paris.fr We could not find a 2026/27 rink page on the city site.

Skating alone: short tips
- Check skate hire. At Somerset House boot hire is included in the ticket. Elsewhere it may cost extra, so read the source page before you go.
- Go at quieter times. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are usually calmer than evenings and weekends. Book a timed slot where the rink sells them.
- Arrive early. Somerset House asks you to arrive 30 minutes before your session for skates and the cloakroom; its sessions last 45 minutes.
- Plan for lockers and bags. Large bags are not allowed on the ice at Somerset House and go in the cloakroom. Travel light and keep your phone and card in a zipped pocket.
- Wear gloves and thin layers. Gloves protect your hands if you fall, and you warm up fast once you move.
- Fix a meeting point if you want company. Choose a named landmark, not "near the rink". Meet-ups for people on their own are listed on Come Alone (comealone.app).

Where do the dates come from?
Each dated rink links its official page: the operator or a city portal. We read them with a plain request on 26 October 2026. Pages that blocked us were skipped, and news sites and guides were not used as proof.
Why are Paris, Vienna or Madrid not in the dated list?
We could not find or read a 2026/27 date on an official page. Check the links in the not-announced list.
Is skating alone awkward?
No. Rinks are full of people on their own, and the nearest wall is always there if you want a rest.
